$34.47 - 40.95/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day.

This position is to fill a temporary vacancy for a duration of not less than one year.




Under limited supervision of the Registrar, the Admissions Officer is responsible for admission adjudication including correspondence, document evaluation, advanced placement, and exception maintenance.  This position also provides intake advising to applicants and their agents, including development of learning plans that incorporates current assessments, prior academic history and desired graduation goals.  The Admissions Officer often acts as a referral agent to other student services at the College and may coordinate special cohort intakes.

The Admissions Officer may also provide admission advice to prospective students including one-on-one advising, group presentations, and activities and events that represent the College in promoting student admission. The Admissions Officers are also expected to routinely report on current admissions to key stakeholders.

This position is required to maintain a high level of knowledge of current educational systems and practices in Canada and around the world.  Administratively, this position relies heavily on the Ellucian Colleague system, Intrinsik Informer, and Microsoft Office.


The required minimal qualifications are as follows:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • 3+ years' experience in a post-secondary educational environment;
  • Demonstrable expertise in relevant software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.); and
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preference will be given to those who have:

  • Experience with post-secondary transfer regulations; and
  • Extensive knowledge of international admissions, including evaluation of international documents.
