Salary:

 

 

$38.33- 47.77 hourly starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  

Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.

Description:

NLC's Health Care Assistant program is seeking a temporary, part-time instructor to deliver courses during the Fall 2019 semester. Depending on course assignments, this appointment comprises a maximum of 15 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be expected to seek excellence in instruction by applying various teaching strategies and working with colleagues to promote an environment of inquiry and evidence-informed practice.

 Qualifications:

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing Diploma;
  • Current, practicing license as an LPN or RN with the BC College of Nursing Professionals.
  • Minimum of three-to-five years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian Nursing experience with an emphasis on the multi-level care of older adults.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Preferred:

  • Formal accreditation in teaching adults, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent credential; and
  • Proficiency and experience in word processing, PowerPoint, learning management systems, and other forms of computer-based education.
