Term of App't:      September - December 2019 (total contract of 90 hours)

Reporting to:        Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs                                                                                                                         




$38.33 - $47.77, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.


Northern Lights College is requiring an instructor for  English 110: Introduction to Workplace Communications.  This course is a university transfer course offered as an elective or required course in many of the academic programs at Northern Lights College.

This contract/section consists of 3.0 contact hours per week along with 3.0 preparation hours per week over a 15 week period for a total contract of 90 hours.

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in English, or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven ability to effectively function as a team member through collaboration with peers across the University Arts and Sciences curriculum.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are essential.


  • Ph.D in English, or closely related discipline.
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students
