Reporting to:    Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs                                                                                                      



$38.33 - $47.77, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.


NLC requires an instructor for face to face delivery of English 099: University Preparation. This course prepares students for university-level success by exploring practices and concepts associated with North American university culture. Students will examine individual responsibilities in an academic environment, the shared construction of knowledge, and the fundamental aspects of clear and appropriate written communication in academic settings.




  • Bachelor's Degree in English;
  • Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.


  • Master's degree in English;
  • Instructional experience in a post-secondary environment;
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential; and
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
