Reporting to:   Dean of Trades & Apprenticeships                      


$38.33 - $47.77 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay, and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.




Northern Lights College is seeking an instructor to teach the Oil and Gas Field Operations program that was developed at the request of local industry to address present and projected shortages of skilled workers in this field. Students will be trained to become professional and technically knowledgeable individuals for the oil and gas industry. Oil and Gas Field Operators are in high demand in the industry and are considered essential personnel to keep the industry running the focus of the program is to provide students with the practical skills needed to function effectively in the industry.




The successful candidate will have extensive practical knowledge and a minimum of 5 years experience with exploration, construction, maintenance or production within the oil and gas industry.  The individual must be self-motivated, possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be effective working in a team environment.  Experience teaching adults or teaching qualifications would be an asset.  Must be familiar with industry/government safety codes and current environmental practices. Candidates with SAIT Oil & Gas certification will be given preference.
