Salary:

$65,274.00 - $77,536.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $99,968.00). Description:

NLC's University Arts and Sciences program requires a regular full-time instructor to teach primarily in the Engineering Studies Certificate and Engineering Certificate programs.

Courses span a number of disciplines including engineering, chemistry, physics, statistics, and computer programming. The successful candidate will not be expected to teach across all the disciplines listed above. However, the successful candidate must possess the knowledge and skills to teach across the majority of these disciplines.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current faculty member of Northern Lights College.
  • Minimum of a Masters' Degree in Engineering; or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Holds a Professional Engineer designation, or on track to obtain a Professional Engineer designation within two years and must provide proof of completion.
  • Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.

Preferred:

  • PhD in Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
