Reporting to: Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs


$43.80 - $49.70/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.


Northern Lights College' University Arts & Sciences Department requires a temporary, part time instructor to teach BIOL 102: Introductory Biology II. This assignment consists of 3.0 lab contact hours per week, with additional associated preparation hours of 2.25 hours per week, for a total contract of 78.75 hours. The BIOL 102 labs will be delivered face to face on the Dawson Creek campus. .

  • Minimum of a Masters' Degree in Biology(consideration will be given to applicants with an undergraduate degree in biology combined with demonstrated lab experience);
  • Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.


  • PhD in Biology;
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education; and
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
