Reporting to: Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs


$43.80 - $49.70/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day.


Northern Lights College's Business Management program requires a sessional instructor to teach MGMT 261: Principles of Corporate Finance II. A continuation of MGMT 260, this course examines topics of the evaluation of risk vs. return trade-offs, determining the cost of capital, the capital structure question, dividend policy, cash, credit, and inventory management.

This contract consists of 45 hours of contact hours + 3 hours of lecture time, plus 48 hours for preparation time for a total contract of 96 hours.

This position may be located in either the community of Dawson Creek or Fort St John, BC.



  • Masters' Degree in Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member through collaborative approaches to course pedagogy.


  • PhD in Business Administration.
  • One North American post-secondary degree, preferably the terminal degree.
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
