The Dean of Continuing Education (CE) provides leadership for the strategic direction and operations of the CE division in the development and delivery of programming (e.g., professional development, pre-college education, general interest courses and workforce training) utilizing diverse delivery modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, blended/hybrid, and hyflex). Additionally, the Dean will foster innovation among staff in exploring and delivering new courses/programs, credentialling (e.g., micro-credentials), and delivery models. The Dean will be a highly engaged, visible, empathetic, and collaborative leader with a deep understanding of the ever-shifting challenges facing higher education and continuing education. The Dean will build upon current strengths and collaboratively shape the future strategic direction of the division of Continuing Education while aligning with broader College strategies and planning initiatives. The Dean of Continuing Education will meet programming and training needs of external stakeholders by building upon existing deep relationships and maximizing new opportunities with local indigenous communities, industry, local businesses, regional municipalities, and provincial and government entities. The Dean will recommend and implement, policies and procedures, and initiatives related to the advancement and improvement of workforce training, courses to promote student success, and general interest courses that meet the needs of students and labour market demands of industry and college-region communities. The Dean will manage annual operating budget of the division and approve expenditures of assigned budgets as well as manage operations on a cost recovery basis with revenue targets. The Dean will manage grants in the CE division to ensure compliance. The Dean will oversee all grant-related activities, including seeking new funding sources, developing, and submitting grant reports to funding agencies. ***Travel within the NLC Region and outside Region is required |
