Description: |
Are you passionate about bettering the lives of youth in BC's Northern communities? Northern Lights College (NLC) is assembling an energetic team of individuals who will be engaging with Northern communities to provide information to families about The Northern Promise project. This rewarding project is aimed at guiding individuals in accessing the Canada Learning Bond (CLB). This is a collaborative project between NLC, Coast Mountain College, CNC, UNBC and BC's Northern Credit Unions with a focus on building human capacity in Northern BC and increasing the probability of northern youth pursuing a post-secondary education. NLC is the lead for the project, which is funded by Employment and Social Development Canada through Phase II of the Canada Learning Bond Grants and Contributions Pilot Project. As a key member of the project team the CLB Promoter will use independent initiative, judgement and discretion while creating new and innovative activities and events to promote and assist applicants in applying for the CLB. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), CLB, matching fund programs and other government post-secondary savings programs in order to inform and advise youth, parents and guardians on eligibility. The Promoter will be required to build relationships and connections with service agencies within the communities this project serves, and will coordinate, attend, and lead all CLB enrolment activities in their region. The CLB Promoter will also be responsible for administrative responsibilities, which may include maintaining filing systems, data collection and storage, and working with internal partners to prepare all project documents such as proposals, presentations, and handouts. Responsibilities also include, tracking and monitoring project activities, deliverables, schedules, and budgets. Frequent travel within the northern region will be required. We are open to discussing various schedule options to achieve the 17.5 hours/week. |
