Term of App't:      September 2019 - February 2020, 30 hours per week 

Start date:            September 5, 2019

Reporting to:        Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs                                                                                                                         




$38.33 - 47.77/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.



NLC's Pre-Employment Workplace Essential Skills program requires a temporary, full time instructor for a cohort of students from Doig River First Nation.

For the first month of program delivery, travel from Fort St. John to Doig River First Nation is required.  Mileage costs and a per diem will be provided during this period. Thereafter, program delivery occurs on NLC's Fort St. John campus.



  • Bachelor's Degree or a post-secondary Diploma;
  • Teaching/instructional experience;
  • Valid BC Driver's License;
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral;
  • Committed to student motivation and achievement; and
  • Ability to collaborate as an effective team member.


  • Familiarity with Essential Skills programming;
  • Proven success with Indigenous learners and a demonstrable commitment to TRC Calls to Action; and 
  • Proficiency and experience in word processing, PowerPoint, learning management systems, and other forms of computer-based education and communication.
