$65,686.00 - 74,525.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $96,085.00). Vacation entitlement annually is 240 hours (pro-rated from hire date for current year), to be utilized for summer months (July and August) or Spring months (May and June), and paid time off between Christmas and New Year's.  We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits, as well as cover the basic medical services plan fees.


Northern Lights College's Associate of Arts Degree (Health Studies) is designed to prepare students for UNBC's proposed Northern Baccalaureate Nursing Program. NLC requires a regular, full-time instructor to deliver Associate Degree (Health Studies) courses, including:

  • Biology 111: Anatomy and Physiology I
  • Biology 112: Anatomy and Physiology II
  • Health Administration 310: Organizational Structure of the Canadian Health Care System
  • Health Administration 311: Professional Nursing Seminar and 
  • Health Sciences 100: Introduction to Health Sciences

The successful candidate will be expected to seek excellence in instruction by applying various teaching strategies that prepare students for Bachelor of Science in Nursing entry at the equivalent of Year 3. Some travel to Dawson Creek will be required.



  • Masters in Nursing or in a closely related field.
  • Completion of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Current, practicing RN license from the BC College of Nursing Professionals.
  • Minimum of three - five years' (full-time equivalent) Canadian Nursing experience.
  • Strong background in anatomy and physiology with a commitment to delivery of rigorous content in this area.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work as a team member; and
  • Current driver's license


  • PhD in Nursing, or in a closely related field.
  • Demonstrable success in post-secondary instruction.
  • Formal accreditation in teaching adults or a willingness to begin such accreditation by pursuing the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent credential. Completion required within five years.
