$38.33 - 47.77/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement.  Temporary employees receive an additional $0.50/hour in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay.


NLC's Career and College Preparation program requires an instructor to teach Physics 040 (the equivalent of Physics 11) and Science 030 (the equivalent of Science 10). This position is based on the Fort St. John campus. Physics 040 is delivered through video-conferencing and requires some travel to Dawson Creek.  Science 030 is delivered online.



  • A Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major/Minor in Physics, or a Bachelor of Education Degree with a Major/Minor in Science, or a Bachelor's Degree in a closely related field;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Committed to student motivation and achievement; and
  • Collaborate as an effective team member.


  • Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary environment;
  • A credential in adult education (e.g., the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program); and
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
