Classification 13, $44,788.84 - $46,174.06 annually, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement.  Vacation, 119 hours annually, is pro-rated and front loaded.  We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits, as well as cover the basic medical services plan fees.  Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves.  Closure during the Christmas Break (Dec 25 Jan 1st) of each year is paid time off.

Description:

 

 

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, Communications & Recruitment, the Social Media Specialist will lead the strategy development, implementation, and day-to-day activity of organic and paid social media activity, other study choice platforms, and paid search to promote the college's programs, services, and initiatives and build general brand awareness. 

 Within the scope of the job there will be specific job duties surrounding social media strategy building and executing social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, bench marking, messaging, and audience identification; platform management managing social market campaigns and monitoring the digital presence of competitors; as well as analytics analyzing trends and performances, focusing on key metrics such as channel growth, impressions, and traffic.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will hold a diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of two years of experience in social media marketing, or as a digital media specialist, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  Those candidates who have an in-depth knowledge of social media platforms and the type of content that performs best on different platforms, campaigns, advertising, and analytics, will be given preference. Knowledge of conversion rate and the role of social media in search engine optimization will be required.

 In order to be successful in this position you should have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage profiles on numerous platforms with superb attention to detail, along with superior copywriting skills across a variety of content styles and platforms. 

 Having experience with search engine marketing; targeting, building, and growing audiences; and allocating and managing social and search advertising budgets would be an asset.

 A valid driver's license is required.
