Salary:

$44,679.50 - $59,572.50 annually, depending on experience and qualifications as per Level 14 of NLC's excluded classification scale, plus an excellent benefit package are offered.   Vacation entitlement will be pro-rated and front loaded, based on 105 hours per year.

Description:

 

 

This position is to cover a specific term for a duration of 18 months, until June 2021. 

In partnership with the Board and Northern Lights College, the Executive Director to the NLC Foundation will oversee the Foundation department, managing two support staff and providing leadership and insight in fundraising, planning and implementation.  This will include identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach prospective contributors, and submitting grant proposals while maintaining accurate fundraising records and documentation.  This role is expected to cultivate existing donors for ongoing support, while seeking new prospects.

The Executive Director will serve as the main contact for all new donations to the Foundation and work with donors to determine the type of award and the criteria, and to the public for any Foundation business.  Will be responsible to chair the annual region-wide meeting with College financial aid clerks to select recipients for region-wide awards, and works with the donors, community members and college staff to ensure that the decisions made will meet the needs of all stakeholders. 

There is significant financial responsibility overseeing the receipt of donations to the Foundation, ensuring that they are administered and reported in accordance with the policies and regulations, in addition to operating within the approved budget, ensuring maximum resource utilization and maintaining a positive financial position. 

The successful candidate will lead fundraising and Capital campaign projects; overseeing all aspects of the fundraising events, and will continue to identify and develop effective and innovative strategies and programs to enhance the Foundation.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with 2 years of management experience, or have an equivalent combination of education and recent experience.  Must be able to demonstrate proven leadership skills, have a background in non-profit management and experience in successful fundraising. A strong attention to detail, with superb oral and written communication skills are necessary - a solid administration background is required.  Candidates must have the ability to work independently, and have a strong initiative and strategic visioning.  A class 7 driver's license is required.
